The mountain has a history of incidents involving underprepared participants. We maintain an incident-free record through thorough planning, preparation, and risk assessment. A final weather check occurs on the morning of the hike; if conditions are unsuitable (e.g., high wind, wet rock, poor visibility), we switch to a safer alternative: ascent of Pen yr Ole Wen on the opposite side of the Ogwen Valley. We reserve the right to inspect kit at the meet point and may refuse participation if equipment is inadequate (advice and alternatives available in advance).
